Make sure to watch the first 30 minutes of The Merchants of Cool
Go out into the streets of New York or hang out around campus.
Please take and post at least three (3) images of something related to current trends (fall 2017/spring 2018) in fashion, design, food, or retailing that you think reflects cool here in NYC and explain why (as best you can). 1. 8/26 Brooklyn
I choose this because Brooklyn has a lot of graffiti, it become a trend in Brooklyn. You can find lot of nice graffiti in there. People can take some cool photo in there, a lot of tourist come to there and take photo. I think it is a cool place of NYC.
2. Chikalicious Dessert Bar 8/30
I like the Japanese dessert, it was great! It is a nice place for couple and best friend to come here to enjoying the afternoon tea. Actually it also become a trend in NYC, NYC has a lot of place like this.
3. 9/1 COCO
I am a Chinese and I like bubble tea, it also becomes a trend in NYC. When I came to this store, I saw not only Chinese people in there but also American.

Thread: 12.2: Influencers (or Key Collaborators) (Thread #2)

 
  1. Identify a keyword from your project or a topic of interest.

  3. Create a writeup describing the key influencers on your list and why you think they're important (or chose them as collaborators)*

Fashion and Women’s Rights
Fashion has been used by feminist groups to advocate for and promote women’s right. This can be seen in provoking fashion styles that reveals body parts in societies where women are not allowed to show their body flesh or in clothing design that promote unpopular beauties e.g. plus women size bikinis and many more.
Influencers and collaborators
These people have been very active in promoting clothing designs that seeks to advocate for and promote women’s right and liberation. They include;

This list of influencers and collaborators consist of designers, models, and brands which uses fashion to promote and advocate for the rights of women. Some of them support women rights courses through the proceeds of the design business while some fashion icons uses their popularity to bring to the public the issues that affect women and how they can be solved.
